Totally. Used to have the same prob. All I did was put an acne sulfur mask on my back and chest every night and it cleared it up. However, you have to do this every night or else it comes back. Wash with soap in the shower everyday.

Microdermabrasion is useful if you have very superficial pigmentation(epidermal type).You have to avoid exposing to sunlight and use sunblock after doing that.4 to 6 sittings are required to get significant improvement.

Okay heres the deal. Im getting married in two months and I have acne scars on my arms! I use to get acne a lot when I was younger, and the scarring just disappeared on its own. There was a little darkness left, but nothing I even cared about. Then I had my baby, and from all the hormones and stuff exiting my body, I broke out all over my arms! (forearms and upper arms) I didnt pick at them or anything but they still left dark spots. (superficial I guess you could say) So Today I bought the neutrogena at home microdermabrasion kit and Im wonder how well it works. Im not looking for a miracle, just something to make them not so freakin obvious. I bought the “advanced solutions kit” because I couldnt find the “advanced solutions- body” kit. So will it still work well? It didnt say anything about only using it on your face. Also, does it really make a a big improvement? If not, what over the counter stuff works? Cant go to dermatologist. No insureance.

I have scars too from Mosquitoes etc. My dad got me a free trial of Dermacia you just pay shipping and handling. maybe like 5.99 for S&H it’s a water proff cover up!!!! with other minerals that help lacks in your skin not your clothing and it has this lil bottles that have natural chemicals to help you clean up the acne and marks. Microdermabrasion is a mini procedure that involves the skin being “sandblasted” by aluminum oxide crystals, baking soda, salt or corn cob granules to remove the stratum corneum (top) layer of the skin; dead skin cells. Microdermabrasion also promotes the production of new cells in the basal (deepest) layer of the dermis. This procedure may not give everyone the same results but if you have the money it is a nice treat and requires no down time. It can clean your pores incredibly and hinder any future breaks outs if used on a regular basis. Microdermabrasion also stimulates collagen net working to further even out skin texture and appearance.

Please be advised, raised or deeply pitted skin areas (possibly from old severe acne scars) and darker pigmented areas will require multiple treatments. I must advise that while Microdermabrasion does is not the cure all for heavily damaged skin, it is a non invasive technique for those of you who do not need a serious laser or chemical peel treatment.

Microdermabrasion also can not be expected to remove tattoos, I don’t care what your dermatologist thinks, It is not going to happen. They are lying if they tell you it will. It takes a bunch of sessions just for mild acne scarring to be removed much less ink buried deep into your skin.
